Diary of an Edinburgher

Tired

Archie’s young vet student came for him this morning at 9am. It was fine and dry, but they did get a wee bit wet on the way home (at 11am). A nice warm bath for Archie - you’d think he’d appreciate it...

It was cold and dull outside, and the only time I went out was to go to the chemist to pick up a prescription. Now, I’ve been doing this very very regularly for the last ten years, and the chemist always asks my name. I must be one of the most regular customers, and I hear her addressing others by name, but today, she saw me coming in, and got my bag ready to hand me, and even said, ‘There you are, m’dear’. Though, yes, she did ask me to repeat my name and address before she handed it over. Almost a breakthrough.

I then watched tennis and snoozed. I am able to do absolutely nothing all day, quite easily. But JR cannot. She pottered about cleaning, ironing, sorting stuff, and then took Archie out again in the afternoon.

Finished The Crown last night. It actually got a bit tedious - the Charles and Diana thing - all the arguments and bulimia scenes. You have to wonder how/why certain scenes/episodes were included. But I’m looking forward to the next series, which must start with the divorce.

Here’s Archie sitting by the fire, back from his walk, feeling very dozy, and trying to decided where to lie down for a quick snooze before teatime.
