Standing Tall

Another glorious morning, so rather than being in the office first thing I took a short walk along the Staffordshire Way. The predominant colour was an icy blue in this field, slowly being warmed up by the sun. I took a number of simple tree shots and just happened to be standing here when I looked towards this stand of trees. I don't normally shoot silhouettes but was taken by the gnarled branches in the central tree.

I was going to post this shot, but was taken by the starkness of this view. I was surprised to find that the image didn't result in any over or under exposure, although detail is obviously lacking in the trees.
