Albania

This appeared in my Amazon pictures feed today, dated 2008.
It is a young Romani boy, living in Albania. There are approx 50,000 Roma living there in a population of 3 million.
I spent a week there facilitating training for boards and reflecting on peace building. He appeared in my life and lens for a fleeting moment. His face haunts me. He is showing me his prize possession.. A wild bird which he caught. He had faced discrimination and rejection because of his ethnicity.
I hope and pray that 12 years on, he is experiencing a better future. We need to be peace builders for such as these
