Time and Tide
Pink scallop shells usually show up after a storm - the bigger the storm, the more there are. Nemo has turned up quite a few, dispersed among the ubiquitous clams.
Was planning to go for a walk on the marsh to take advantage of the late afternoon sunlight, but I got distracted on the beach. The flock of mallards was back, puttering amongst the wrecked lobster traps and the driftwood, gorging themselves on the washed up clams. Let's hope they can polish them off, because things are going to start smelling bad Real Soon Now. Part of the problem is that the storm deposited everything way above the normal high tide line so the sea does not reclaim its own.
