Monday: More Autumn Colour ...
... this time Cotoneaster and Beech.
The cotoneaster in particular is such a valuable wildlife tree: flowers quite late in the summer, tiny flowers which you’re only aware of because the bees swarm to them, then berries which the blackbirds and thrush love.
Today's gardening job to clear the paths to the compost bins and to empty the compost from a smalller compost bin into the large "Dalek" bin, giving me an empty bin for filling during the winter months.
MrD on deliveries, he also popped into an independent electrical shop to buy us a new microwave, last one didn't last very long
Managed to plant the shallots (for spring onions) in a tub, under the old fridge tray just as the rain started, few minutes later it was pouring down. Lasted all afternoon ... in fact almost bedtime and the rain still here and the wind ...
Rain didn't deter the "game" shoot, I could hear shots whilst gardening this morning and from indoors this afternoon - hope Philip the pheasant, our garden visitor during Lockdown, is keeping well away ...
Stay safe & healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
