Caged In Or Locked Out
Part of the ‘charm’ of living by the sea are the gulls, the ripping open of uncovered bin bags with the resulting mess, their noise and their nesting on your roof. Some years ago we had one come down the chimney we didn’t realise it was a gull at the time but mess from the soot was unbelievable it was only when it happened a couple of days later that we realised, it was still alive and the RSPCA were required to remove it.
Switch to next door ground floor, this is an Airbnb, they don’t use their open fire so when a gull came down their chimney it slowly decomposed behind the screen boarding the fireplace. The less than positive write up on Trip Advisor regarding the smell and flies alerted the owner to something not being right. This has resulted in the two households next door wanting to cage the chimney stack, they would pay 25% each, Clare and I 50%.
So it’s been caged, no more gulls appearing in the living room and less noise in the summer, we just need to get people to cover their bin bags of rubbish.
A day of rugby, Ireland v Wales last night, Argentina v All Blacks early this morning and then Italy v Scotland and England v Georgia this afternoon.
