Herrgottsbscheißerle

Pasta squares filled with vegetables (the original is filled with meat).
One of my feel-good-cold-season-foods.

Herrgottsbscheißerle (more fancy: Maultaschen) would translate something like the Small-God-Cheaters.
During lent meat wasn't allowed and to get around that order, the pasta squares were filled with meat. You couldn't see the meat inside the squares - and voila! you could eat it during lent.

I cut mine in pieces and fry them. Very good in a whole in soup, too.
