Partridges?

Drove Gyp to place where she can run along road safely whilst I follow in car (still within 1 km of home as per the rules). Stopped to let her out and this flock of young birds jumped out of the ditch and they stayed grazing the new shoots .
Very well camouflaged and Gyp never noticed them.
