Guardian of the portal?

This scary-looking doorknob caught my eye this morning on my walk up Glastonbury high street - it's on a newly-repainted shop which sells Asian arts, crafts and textiles. With this guy guarding the portal, I'd have to feel quite brave to go in and browse when they re-open!
