Another overcast day, but this didn't need sunshine to glow. Just a brief walk to get some fresh air, other than that an indoor day.
Part of my supermarket shop on Friday was a Label Rouge chicken for only 7 euros. It had to be cooked by today ... I fancied something a bit different and remembered a decades-old Josceline Dimbleby recipe: a pot-roasted chicken in an Indian-inspired yoghurt marinade with an oniony sauce. It was a good thought; it was delicious. I decided to put it on my blog so I wouldn't forget about it again. It's from a tatty little Sainsbury's book, one of a series they used to sell for 50p in the 1980s. My copy is much splattered though I haven't got it out in a good many years.
Yesterday evening we watched a couple of episodes of a new series of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads (available on FilmIn). Imelda Staunton as a nosy letter-writer and, rather edgily for Bennett, Sarah Lancashire as a mother having inappropriate feelings for her teenage son. Both excellent.
