Looking down at a freshwater pond.
Out for a mid morning walk at Southend of Snells Beach. Only a few herons to be seen today, even though the tide seemed right. In the most westerly part of the shore line is a small pond which at high tide gets full of sea water, and is filled instead by fresh water once the tide goes out.
I saw little birds darting, and expected they were Tauhou, which these two are. Yesterday I had watched a Tui dive into the water at a different pond, and did wonder if these might do the same. They didn’t.
