Gonna Make a Wish

Gonna Make a Wish - Sue is getting ready to make our Christmas cake, ingredients weighed out and the fruit will be soaking in a little brandy over night. So tomorrow we will be 'Stirring in our wishes'. Our Son informs us we are late as 'Stir Up Sunday' was at the end of October. Now here's the thing, according to Merry Berry we should let the cake mature for 3-months and feeding it regularly with a drop of brandy, so that would be the end of September. Me being me had to look it up on the web. Interestingly there is more reference to 'Stir Up Sunday' being the Sunday before Advent, the traditional date for Christmas Puddings to be made and wishes applied ie the end of November. Anyway I am looking forward to making my wish tomorrow.
