While her physique says that she is well grounded and not likely to topple over, her state of mind is more of a concern.

Our tickets for the every-two-years-family trip in late April are in hand, so the task of finding extended in-home cat care is at the top of my list of priorities. Her former caregiver-the cat whisperer-is too ill to take care of her this time. The search is starting from scratch, with numerous emails, phone calls and multiple interviews. It is a royal pain in the ass because no matter how "fabulous" the service is that I hire, they will just show up twice a day for three weeks, slap some food and water down and leave. Because she is not a cuddler with strangers, they won't even make an effort, and besides, time is money and the more clients they can fit into a day...

Sigh.
