Steep climb and coming down is tricky!
We took a wander around Hessle Foreshore this morning. The Country Park nature reserve is situated at the East Yorkshire end of the Humber Bridge and makes use of an old chalk quarry. Prior to going I did a little research and found out that the area has been quarried for chalk for 700 years!
The boys enjoyed climbing the many slopes and paddling in the shallow parts of the lake. We have bought home a little piece of chalk to look at under the microscope. I'm hoping we might be able to spot some teeny tiny fossils. Fingers crossed!
