Refuge Flight

I love geese. We are so fortunate to live on a flyway, and near a refuge, Baskett Slough Wildlife Refuge. Great flights travel over us, mostly very high in the winter, but sometimes we'll drive out to the refuge and get a closeup. While I singled in here on one small flying...gaggle?...there were several "pods" of thousands of geese together. Pretty cool.

A tough choice once again, the geese winning out over a shot of an oak on the horizon with a burnt-orange, chemically treated field before it, and Tom at the wheel of our Kubota tractor as we finished trimming the front apple trees. I think I can get many more tractor shots of Tom, but I'm not sure how many of those shots I can get of beautifully flying geese. Check out the large version.
