Windfall
Very strong winds overnight, probably the tail end of something, saw temperatures fall from 70s to freezing by dawn. In the early light I could see a couple of trees down (although not those pictured), which will go to make free firewood.
Although colder, the sun was very bright in a clear sky. I got enthralled by another scene and only photographed this image on a whim, which I liked better. I think it's the strong contrasts and the texture that appeals, along with reflections and blue sky.
Later, I got excited about reflections from trees behind those on the far shore, but I couldn't quite frame them how I would like.
Extra: Beyond Gold.
