Saw this statue for the first time today. It was commissioned for the opening of the Nuffield Hospital in Leeds in 2002. The sculptor, Faith Bebbington called the statue “Crown” and the hospital renamed it “The Human Spirit”. The hospital also managed to spell the sculptor’s name wrong on the plaque! It’s quite an impressive piece of art.
