Today would have been my lovely Mum's 90th birthday and I still miss her so much each and every day.
It's five years, five months and five days since she died and, very strangely, this was her last ever blip.
Mum hated having her photo taken but I managed to get her to pose with a sign during one of our eight trips to America together - see the first extra - couldn't pass up the chance of a town named in her honour - well, not really but it was nice to pretend!!
It was 2011 and in Alma, Virginia (Mum's name was Alma not Virginia - lol) - a very small place between Shenandoah and Luray.
The two other extras:
Personal memories that made us laugh so much we actually cried.
The rainy one - Florida - not funny at first glance but we were in a Mustang convertible with the roof down - as long as we kept moving we weren't getting wet but we couldn't stop to put the roof back up until we found a bridge or something to stop under or we would have been drenched - we were getting some strange looks (obviously) and that made us laugh even more.
The sign - near Woodbine in southern Georgia - well, I think that speaks for itself - we howled with laughter that whoever put this sign out must have either thought it was funny or that they had no idea how it sounded or looked to a casual passer-by.
Both of these memories still make me smile - we had some fabulous times together and she was a wonderful Mum both when I was little and when I was grown.
Happy Birthday, Mum.
