Whitebait

We have just had a delicious meal of Whitebait. Whitebait is considered a delicacy from the West Coast of NZ. As a child, I wouldn’t eat these minute little immature fish because of their eyes...however, decades later, I love them. Our neighbour caught them, and he and his wife brought a very generous amount over yesterday as a birthday gift. We had some tonight, and will finish them tomorrow night. A real treat!!
