Blue maid

is a small island outside the west coast of northern Öland. The three of us went there today to visit sites we haven't seen before, like a geo park with a sloping road seventeen metres down a quarry with signs telling us how far back in time we travelled. Each millimeter of formed limestone represents a thousand years. The walk does something with your mind.

The island "Blå Jungfrun" - the Blue maid, or Blue virgin, is also called "Blåkulla", the Blue hill, where the witches went once a year to dance with the devil.
