African monarch butterfly
A very sociable day today, considering it's lockdown.
The weekly streetmarket was functioning in a reduced way, and though we couldn't sit and have a coffee, we could chat in the street. Later in the middle of the day, my snorkelling buddy and I went for a swim, and another 2 friends did too... just slightly further down the beach. As usual followed by a brisk walk round the bay. The whole thing was really invigorating, and everyone was keen to repeat the experience.
During the walk, I found this beautiful butterfly on the beach, struggling in the nearly gale force wind .I'd never seen it before, I looked it up later and discovered that it must be the African Monarch butterfly.I've never noticed one here before.
