Fathers and Sons
This Remembrance Day, I honour my grandfathers and their sons for the service they gave to their country during both World Wars. Although none of them lost their lives (thank heavens!), they fought honourably and bravely, and I am so proud and grateful for their patriotism.
From left to right, top to bottom: My paternal grandfather, photographed somewhere in France during World War I, giving his horse a drink from a silver cup they won. My father who served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. My maternal grandfather in WWI regalia shortly before leaving for or just after returning from Europe. His son (my uncle) in his WWII uniform.
