Neap High Tide
Today we planned to do some painting at home. Thankfully our daughter phoned first thing and invited us out for an early lunch in town. She was out Christmas shopping for the children. We were soon persuaded that lunch out was a far better offer than painting at home. :)
Whilst out we went into Marks and Spencers and took this photo out of the window. It is an amazing view and the day was so clear.
On the way back to the car we noticed that today is wear a Guernsey day and there was a large banner hanging from the marina railings. The Guernsey was the traditional weatherproof sweater worn by fishermen. (see extra) We don't actually wear them anymore as we find Guernsey is too warm. When we lived in Scotland we had been known to layer up with two! Apparently there are a huge number sold to the Far East, particularly Japan. Many are sold to tourists during a normal summer too.
