Dangerous Beauty
Creeping Indigo was introduced into Florida some 90+ years ago. Over the last ten years small outbreaks of creeping indigo poisoning in the central part of the state have been reported. Both horses and donkeys have been effected. The symptoms are too numerous to report here but if you'd like additional info, click HERE. This plant, which grows profusely at the DogPark, has beautiful little salmon-colored flowers and I have blipped photos of them a few times. Since Fletcher is apparently part Cow and considers the DogPark his personal giant salad bar, I'm a bit concerned for his health. So far, I've not found anything in the literature to support that concern. It's on my list to discuss with our Veterinarian on our next visit.
Be safe and stay well!
