Imagine

Imagine that you are standing here 500 years ago in the year 1520.
It seems to me that there is nothing in this scene which would look different from how it is today.
It is up to you to imagine whether you live in this defensive Arnside Tower with your family and two cows and perhaps some sheep. You have come out early to see that all is secure and perhaps to collect. Some wood for the fire. It is getting chilly now that it is nearly mid November.

Or you can imagine that you are a raider who has sailed down the coast from Scotland and intend to lay siege to the tower and escape with the farm beasts. You are surveying the scene to plan your attack.

That is fun. But for me when I turn around in front of me is the South Lakeland District Council Recycling  Truck with the driver sitting in his cab, drinking breakfast coffee and enjoying the misty view.
