Deserted streets

We met our youngest son for a walk in town in the morning. We headed down to the grass market and up Victoria Street, sheltering from a sudden dourpour in a nearby cafe. Still raining when we came out, but we continued along towards the castle esplanade and enjoyed the views over the city. Everywhere was quiet. It's really strange seeing the royal mile empty of tourists.
We walked on down the mound and through Prince's Street Gardens to the west end and then back to where we started.
