Mill

While I was still waking up and planning the excoriating email that I planned to write but would surely never send it dawned on me that I'd put a loaf in the oven but couldn't remember taking it out. Maybe Mandy had. But I couldn't remember smelling the bread so she probably hadn't. Sure enough, when I got downstairs there was only the stump of the Friday night loaf. Damn. So I had to open all the doors to the outside so I could yank the thing from the oven and get it out before the house filled with smoke setting off the detectors. That would be a bad start to the day. Instead I whipped the pot containing the loaf out to hiss in the frost. That was the day's excitement.

But cycling in daylight. That's just weird. I thought for a second I was late for work.
