Grandad Thornton

It would have been my Grandad's 124th birthday today , he fought in the 14-18 war , wounded twice, and each time patched up in England and then sent back to the front line. Makes you wonder how they ever lived a normal life again. He died shortly after his 70th birthday.

For the first time in years I haven't played the Last Post and Reveille. It seems so wrong that I haven't been to a service to remember him and the millions of others , but I haven't forgotten.
