Lest we Forget

My dad never forgot the men who died in 1958 when a bomb went of at the NAAFI in Nicosia.

Dad served in the RAF.

Every year dad would go into London and March and lay a wreath until he could no longer walk. When his legs gave up and he refused to be in a wheelchair, he would ask us to make sure he did something to remember the boys and we did, one way or another.

In 2016, little did I know this would be the last photo I would take of dad paying his respects. The photo shows what a struggle it was for him to stand let alone walk.

Today, I remember for him those who died and the stories Dad told us all. Today I also remember my dad. Rest in peace dad, you are my hero, I only wish I told you that.
