One of the more amusing absurdities of the current situation is the persistence of football commentators to regularly trot out new statistics based on ‘home’ and ‘away’ performances. Apparently Man U’s home record this season is its worst since the start of season 19-oatcake or so. There are no fans. Home and away isn’t a thing without fans. Yep, I watched some footy. But not too much.
I also tackled the leaking window and chatted awhile to the usual suspects (apologies/clichewatch) and the not-so-usual Ally playing with his junk rig. A good rig for a solo sailor - last year he’d sailed up from Southampton - mostly day hops until he came to East Anglia. Where next, Grimsby, Whitby? Nope, all the way home, just sailing, drifting and sleeping. There’re an amazing number of fishing buoys on Dogger Bank though he said, not great for motoring. I’ll bear it in mind.

Oh my word! High fives!! Whoop whoop whoop. Can the centre ground, the decent, the respectful, the rational, begin to reclaim its place? I do hope so.

Later, another film : Relic, a decent unusual take on dementia, didn’t think it totally pulled it off, but bravo n’that.
