Sky moods

We were at the hunt site at 6am but decided to wait for more daylight before attempting to walk the half mile up and down the rocky hill to the hunting blind.  We could see the clouds in the dark sky plus the wind was blowing even though it was not cold.  

By the time we got to the blind the clouds had gathered and the wind was blowing so hard that the dust and dirt were awful. We had to zip up the windows to keep it out of our eyes.  Which does not help the hunter to be able to spot any animal that might be close by. It rained off and on for three hours.  And got colder!  

At one point the sun popped out so we could see a full rainbow.   Then some blue sky and then it clouded back up.  Right when we were leaving the sun popped out from under a cloud and highlighted the mountains in front of us.  

Snow is forecast for tonight but not as much as the first weekend we were here. Really cold temps for this coming week also.


The elk are still hiding.
