Green manure!

The new potato patch has very heavy soil even after cropping the spuds, so I put a green manure of Phacelia (tansy). It’s flowering now and we had such a warm sunny day that it was covered in grateful honey bees! There’s not much else for them just now so they were delighted with it.
Hopefully it will improve the soil structure too.
The rescue hens are getting more adventurous now, out enjoying the grass and sunshine and laying a few eggs as well so mission accomplished!
