Sound off like you got a pair!

Blipped late on, so this is more to document what I did rather than anything else.

Took my Dad to see Full Metal Jacket on the big screen. We missed Paths of Glory recently, not to worry..Mum has ordered it for him on DVD but this is when I get to wheel out the obligatory "It's not as good as the big screen" comment.

In the case of FMJ, it is certainly true. It has a more visceral uncomfortable feel about it, and in my opinion the tour of duty half of the film gets quite a lift instead of watching it on a TV, the combination of rumbling tanks and airborne hardware creates a very believable audio/visual war setting.

And of course stuck-on palm trees in London Docklands, but you don't notice :o)
