Beech Tree

Thank you all for the lovely messages, stars and hearts on my 2500 blipversary yesterday.  It still amazes me that I manage to keep going.  I’m never quite up to date with my journal, but I always make sure I have a blip – even if it’s just an emergency blip – ready for posting.  It’s something that has been even more important to me through lockdown and is one of the things that has made sure I get out of the house every day.  I have strived to get a blip and at least 10,000 steps every day, and I have succeeded on both counts.

Today was just another work day, but with significantly less calls/meetings than the rest of the week.  However I did have two very long calls this afternoon.  I had to write up the intelligence I had gleaned from those calls before I logged off, otherwise come Monday I will have forgotten everything.  That meant I had to work late – but should make Monday a bit easier.

It was uncle's funeral this afternoon, with limited attendance due to the current situation.  My brother took my mum and dad, but I did feel at not being able to attend and also for my dad's younger brother who was also unable to attend. It's at times like these that you feel quite helpless and resentful of the current restrictions - even though I fully understand that they are in place to protect us all..

BB had football training this evening and I had a very short walk to hit my step target.  The US election continues to grip us – it was 253 to 214 when we turned off tonight, not much movement from yesterday.  When will we get a result?

I walked to Alderson House at lunchtime, the first time there in ages as the grounds are rather wet and muddy.  This tree was looking lovely in its autumn finery against the blue sky – my second autumnal  beech tree this week.
