Found myself rather distracted by trying to find out what was happening in the counting of votes in the still to be decided states of the USA. I am not a US citizen, and haven't even passed through for almost twenty years. So, in one sense it's none of my concern. However, US politics has often affected even little NZ, and the current President has (along with a select little group of fascistic leaders) affected politics around the world. Mr Gerry Brownlee was the deputy leader of the National Party before the election, and during the campaign he tried Trumpian suggestions and even false statements. He lost his electorate seat in a massive voter rejection, I'm pleased to say. But he really seemed to think that was the way to go.
It's a pity the US election is so close.
Read a paper today about yet another reason to prefer lithium in the treatment of bipolar disorder. Treatment with lithium is associated with reduced atherosclerosis in the carotid arteries. Whis could serve to prevent the early death from stroke or heart attack which shortens the life of so many with bipolar disorder.
