Not A Bird

If you walk to the corner store, you pass by the house with the milkweed. If you pass by milkweed, you have to stop and look for caterpillars. If you find caterpillars, you have to pull out your phone and take some photos. The more we looked, the more we found--well over a dozen creatures in various lengths and girths, all of them moving and chewing. There is rain forecast for tonight. I wonder how these little things will survive. Such hope and promise concentrated in those bright stripes! All of us hanging on in the wind.
