Firethorn and Fungi

It's been a dreary old day. It was a bit misty this morning although I thought it might brighten up later but that wasn't to be.

These 'shrooms are growing on the stump of an old ceanothus. We thought it might be honey fungus but having examined it probably not. It looked much brighter with the contrast of the cotoneaster berries which grow above it.
