Weta

This is the thingie that started all the wonderful stuff with "The Lord of the Rings"  A Weta, 
The very famous outfit that did a lot of the digital stuff around that wonderful series was Weta Digital of Wellington which is a must visit if you ever come here. 
Apparently there were 40,000 searches on the NZ immigration website from the US yesterday so there are a few wanting to.
 
Anyway its not the sort of thing you would you would like to find in your tramping pak and if The Boss wanted me to round one up I would be hiding behind my mask, 
After  the U3A meeting today we had a great meeting with some of our new friends in our new smartphone photography group and after lunch had a iphone exercise with another friend in the Wellington museum where we found this little bloke just asking to be photographed. A "Giant Weta" is hand sized..
