Old Fashioned Farmstand

Still trying to do Pilates with our fingers crossed, John and I decided that a change of scene would be good, so kept our regular appointment with Kathy. We knew she would be trying to teach Pilates with her fingers crossed as well....we didn't discuss the hanging election because we all believe that it isn't over until it's over. And there's a good chance that it won't be over then either...

We went by Tierra Vegetables, an old fashioned farmstand in a barn which sells among other homegrown/homemade goodies a very delicious chili jam. There was something comforting and very pleasant about these randomly collected artifacts and objects placed on the shelves with jars of chili jam and bottled home cooked heirloom tomatoes.

It is certainly good to have our faster internet and our landline back again. Although we don't have much choice, and have tried both, I'm not at all sorry to have switched to Comcast. I'm watching the AT&T trucks roll down the road behind our house in a long parade and thinking that they are committing all those resources to doing whatever they are doing, yet they couldn't get it together to communicate with their customers to tell them not only why they have no service but that it was likely to last months....They didn't have any trouble sending us bills....I turned that one over to John and heard him explaining to four different people why he was not going to pay a bill for services never rendered....I don't think that one will be over until it's over either....

My frustrating attempts at conversation with the insurance adjuster in Las Vegas continued this morning when she called on my cell phone in an area with no cell phone coverage. I believe what she was saying was something along the lines of 'the check is in the mail', which means that particular relationship will be over when the envelope arrives. But we all know that the US Postal service can't be trusted to deliver our ballots which therefore shouldn't be counted....

Things move along but there are times when it is not even clear whether they are moving forward or backward....
