A very strange day, when it seemed the count really had been stopped: every refresh just returned the same numbers. I had to drag myself away for an escapist lockdown walk but I got back home to a WhatsApp from Daughter to our family group: 'So how obsessively are we, as a family, following US election news? Is it just me?'
