East Princes Street Gardens

With the BP readings on my new monitor scaring the bejesus out of me, I set off for a yomp round the town to get some exercise which I realise is the way to reduce these mms of mercury which stand between me and going back on pills. I have become too complacent of late about my lack of structured workouts and have enjoyed too many treats under lockdown making life more tolerable.

As for listening to the news from America, I find it depressing and dangerous that the Presidential election has come to this impasse where both Biden and Trump are claiming victory when nothing has been decided conclusively but Trump is threatening to halt the counting of postal votes. What a mess- American democracy on the line with Trump.

To my mind the new look reconstructed gardens in Princes Street are a poor substitute for the old ones which existed before the ongoing work at the Art Galleries and the destructive Underbelly Christmas Market last year.
