Ready for Takeoff

I closed in on a pair of sand hill cranes on my bike ride this morning. They were very tame, and I loved getting closer to them. Eventually I got too close, They took off flying a short distance. I am surprised that they have not begun their southern migration yet. There must be plenty of bugs still in the grass. It made my morning!
