Steel & Magnolias

I'm slightly embarrassed to say, about 700 shots of the boys and the gardens today. Well, only slightly embarrassed. So I made a quick decision on this which I love.

I had 3 lenses in my bag, the 35/1.4L that I'd wanted to use for wide angle, and the 70-200/2.8L my favourite for portraits of the boys running, but the 100/2.8L macro was perfect not only for the detailed shots, for creating an ethereal sense of blur as the magnolias gently moved in the wind, but Reuben & Callum's environmental portraits, along with some pull backs from the scene. What an incredibly beautiful day. I think we all have a certain scenery that is our solace, whether the beach, mountains, the city or a park. For me, it will always be a botanical garden and The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena is one of the World's best. I feel immensely refreshed.
