Stags and Stuff

It was DougsJB’s guideline-conforming stag do today - his would-have-been best man pulled off an absolute stonker.

It started with being dumped in town in pyjamas, a hasty MacD breakfast and then a highly organised 10k run in stages with tasks to complete at each stage. He was accompanied by his boys in cars, hooting and challenging him along the way. He had baked beans and eggs thrown at him. He had to eat neat cinnamon, down a bottle of coke, wear little to wearing lots - one awful scene was watching him eat a banana through black stockings over his head. Ugh.

Then football golf and then go-kart racing and then a BBQ back here. The BBQ was all about meat - lots of it and unusual meat too.

He was a happy bunny. He loved it. BUT ... during it, we heard the PM announce the national lock down. So during his stag, the 4 parents and bride & groom met to discuss wedding plans.

SO now, they’re getting married on Tuesday. Before lock down starts. Better pulled forward than pushed back and into an unknown future.

We had a bit of a flurry of conversions trying to ensure all our big kids could get here for it at such short notice. But it all seems like good plans if not a big bit bewildering.

This is our second ‘just-before-lock-down’ wedding.
