Extreme Ironing?

On my way to Nottingham for a geocaching event and stopped of in a layby to try to find a cache. Didn't have much luck as there was a car just in front of us who looked like they were there for the duration.

Anyhow, spotted this iron hanging in a tree. Anyone got any ideas? I have seen trees with shoes hung on branches, but this is new to me!
