National Space Centre
Day out to the National Space Centre in Leicester today. We've never been before, kids loved it, and we upgraded our ticket to an annual pass for free. This was our first view of it, the 42m tall rocket tower. On the left is the lift, but in the middle you can just see the Blue Streak and PGM-17 Thor rockets. I'm not much on heights but we did go up to the top, great view, bit scary looking straight down past the rockets to the ground though.Worth seeing a film in the full dome planetarium as well.
Waited for 5 minutes while B was in the flight simulator, mistakenly left H with Daddy too close to the shop ....... her new cuddly bear has been called Buzz Armstrong.
The Abbey Pumping Station is next door, free to enter, also worth a visit. It houses 2 beam engines in a lovely old building. It's also a small museum, with some old film projectors, toys, and toilets!
