Culbin Forest
We’d a walk this afternoon in part of the vast Culbin Forest which sits on the south side of the Moray Firth and stretches from Nairn to Findhorn Bay. The area used to be all dunes but was planted with trees to stabilise the shifting dunes which threatened land and homes. Planting started in 1922 and completed in 1960. It’s now an important wildlife and plant habitat and a great place to walk and cycle.
