Failure

Continuing the fungal theme, today’s target was to be a Fly agaric. Known to most people as the bright red toadstool with white blobs where the Elves and Pixies sit by moonlight.

Last year at this time there was a splendid specimen in this small nature reserve at about this time. It was 12 inches in diameter.

But here is the footpath to the reserve. There were ducks swimming on it and no easy way round it. And we had no wellies in the car.something to remember in future.

Filled up the petrol tank in the car. With the new lockdown that should last until next year.
