St Peter & St Paul's

Enjoyed some sun at the end of a very wet and windy day which glistened off the south facing windows of our church, which dates back to 1250. During the English Civil War apparently Royalist soldiers scanned the River Trent valley from the tower for the approaching Roundheads of Oliver Cromwell.

On hearing some strange sounds initially thought it was coming from a nearby house, then that I was hearing things. Eventually a large skein of geese flew over high in the sky and mystery over. Spooky sounding but there again it is Halloween.
