Always go

It was miserable today.
With a planned all day power cut we were up early to make coffee, and then we headed out. We planned a woodland wander to avoid the torrential rain, but as we made our way it eased.... So we carried on around the Tarn... And just as we got almost exactly half way the rain returned in a biblical sense! By the time we got back to the car we looked like we'd been swimming.
In Ambleside neither chippy was open (?!?) and we just didn't fancy cafes crowded with people avoiding the rain... So we headed North along a very flooded A591 to Keswick.

Fish and chips next to Derwentwater... And a brief bit of blue sky and sun. Those of you who know the area may recognise the extra taken from Kettlewell Bay, there should be about 20-30ft of shingle beach in front of me...

But, we laughed (at ourselves) a lot. Missy loved it. And it's better than the alternative. Always go if you can.

I know some of you like to know... I think my main blip is an early form Shaggy Parasol, definitely Chlorophyllum sp. but without a more developed specimen and a spore test its impossible to be 100%
